The word "conjunction" comes from Latin "conjunctio," meaning "connection." 'Connection' is when two or more relationships or things are linked to each other. Grammatically, a conjunction is a term for the word class that connects words, phrases, or clauses. For example, the seven English conjunctions: for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so (also known as FANBOYS).
In astronomy, two celestial bodies are in conjunction when they are in a straight line with each other as seen from Earth. When planets are in conjunction in the sky, it's the perspective that makes it possible. So perspective becomes the link. If we were observing the planets from a different standpoint in the universe, they wouldn't appear to be aligned at the same time and wouldn't be noteworthy. The viewpoint will always be the connection between where you stand and what you are looking at.
Polyteknikken is a collaborative workspace that serves as a link for artists. The workspace provides the opportunity to discuss artistic processes as well as everyday events of greater or lesser significance on a daily basis. The exhibition serves as a link between the artists' workspaces and the outside world, an invitation to see the artists of the collaborative workspace in their environment. An exhibition that presents works in the context in which they were created.
