WINTER WALTZ AND SUMMER POLKA & ROSE OUT OF STEP

Winter walz – while we wait
that was what I thought while I dyed
paper yarn for new works
I had all the images in my mind
After almost a year of war
there was a lot of green
dirty white
darkness
and something red The summer brought no good news
but the apple trees bloomed nonetheless
It rubbed off on the dye baths I had promised myself
to avoid the pink
it wasn’t the first time
but then it got away from me…
in all honesty – it didn’t turn out well
yellow saved me in the end One day at the end of July
in the middle of Småland
Olena plays
the sorrowful waltz
and the jauntiest polka
she is from Ukraine –
and so is the waltz and the polka
I play them now
while I wait…
