Come and have a conversation with the exhibitors behind the community Polyteknikken and the exhibition Rhizome.
Rhizome is an exploration of the systems and connections that are consciously and unconsciously created within a community, where the flow of exchange is constant, and ideas intertwine to generate new expressions and small offshoots.
A Rhizome is a root network without a logical center or starting point, allowing any point to connect with any other.
Spontaneous conversations in a creative community sometimes make it impossible to define when individual artists' ideas begin and end. Movement, connections, and interdependencies are expressions shared by the artists of Polyteknikken, manifesting in vastly different ways—ranging from works that, in materials and visualization, are closely linked to nature’s organic forms, to those that engage politically and feministly with hierarchical structures in communication and interpretation.
The exhibition will showcase both the differences and interconnectedness within the group of artists and engage in a dialogue with the audience about how a community’s diverse expressions ensure ongoing movement, as well as healthy resistance—expanding and transforming the network, and ultimately enriching it. The community “breathes,” so to speak, in its expanding and contracting movement as a unified entity
