CC Create x Monster Chetwynd: A Feather in your Hat!13 Apr 2025 - 1 Mar 2026

In Hall 4 – formerly the Royal Danish Theatre’s scenic painting workshop – Chetwynd presents a spectacular total installation that brings together their signature DIY aesthetic with humor, fantasy, and grotesque elements in a sensory exhibition that activates the entire space.
At the center is Big Red Hat Shop, a new work created specifically for CC, where visitors are invited into the artist’s imaginative world and encouraged to participate in a process of transformation — quite literally — through hats, masks, and performative gestures. The shelves overflow with peculiar faces and twisted creatures, and on the green monster stage, anyone can step into a new version of themselves.
The exhibition marks the first chapter of CC Create, a three-year educational and exhibition initiative that transforms Hall 4 into an open studio for play, learning, and co-creation. Specially trained hosts are on hand to guide visitors in exploring their own creative potential in dialogue with Chetwynd’s art.

Fakta

Chetwynd’s art practice spans a variety of media, including installation, performance, film and painting. The artist’s work is famously playful and effervescent, mixing the glamorous, grotesque and nightmarish. Chetwynd and their performers hand-fabricate costumes, masks, props and set designs, often from recycled materials, embracing a DIY aesthetic. Chetwynd invites visitors to take part in collaborative projects bursting the conventional boundaries between artists, artwork and audience.
