Dive into a growing archive of young people's fantastic visions of the future. Synthesizing Utopias is an interactive, generative digital artwork based on a dynamic dataset of utopian fragments, developed by young creators.
Basement becomes host for a video game world that allows for the synthesis, remixing and combining dreams of the future into new collective speculation for utopia. What does the future look like? - And who is involved in dreaming it?
Throughout the spring of 2026, visual artist and game developer Esben Holk has invited students from Next KBH and Gefion Gymnasium to worldbuild and visualize personal visions for a shared future and donate them to a video game work central to the exhibition. Now the dataset has been poured into the software machine, and you can come and explore the students' hopeful ideas for the future.
