Do you remember when Anker Jørgensen brought hip-hop to Denmark? No?! MR SPRAY is a counterfactual exhibition that uses AI to tell the story of a fictional relationship between the labor movement and hip-hop culture: Had we been freer and happier; in a more colorful everyday life and with a different space for individual expression, than capitalism offers?
Artist Anders Reventlov has also contributed to the exhibition, which can be experienced both indoors and outdoors until June 28th.
The exhibition is the third part of a multi-year project. The first part was part of the Retro Avantgarde exhibition at Kongegaarden in Korsør, and the second part was titled "Freedom, Equality, and Hip-hop" at Sydhavn Station in November 2023. Additionally, you can follow the development of the project on Instagram.
At the opening on May 30th at 5 p.m., Kristoffer Ørum will present a performance MR SPRAY, with scenes from an alternative Danish history. At the opening, there will also be a new performance by Linnea Langfjord; FLOWERS AND SWINE, depicting a possible future with AI. Following that, there will be a hip-hop concert by Antikapitalistisk Musik Kooperativ.
