The artist group O Future (DK/ZA) interprets enigmatic stories from Greek mythology in a grand digital total installation created specifically for Thorvaldsen’s Museum. With hand-drawn digital projections and moving soundscapes, a series of the museum’s historical marble galleries are transformed into an immersive journey through the Greek underworld. Here, visitors are invited to step directly into the imagined realms of life after death, using visual elements from gaming and fantasy.
Step into a world where Greek myths are brought to life as vivid dreams. Thorvaldsen’s sculptures are enveloped by hand-drawn projections and atmospheric musical compositions inspired by the sculptures' own instruments, including Apollo’s lyre and Mercury’s flute.
The total installation is a surreal journey from the grim Hades to the paradisiacal Elysium.
O Future is an international artist duo with Danish Jens Bjørnkjær and South African Katherine Mills Rymer, creating 3D-animated digital art, music, and sound works. They have collaborated with Ai Weiwei, Lars Von Trier, and the Allen Ginsberg Foundation, among others.
