How does art influence public spaces, and how can it create new experiences and perspectives? This is the focal point of both our discussion and exhibition, centered around artist Benedikte Bjerre’s artwork Bigger Picture, located in Skrydstrup, Sønderjylland.
Through a talk with artist Benedikte Bjerre, art consultant Charlotte Bagger Brandt, and curator Frida Rask Wolff—who all specialize in art in public spaces—we will explore how art can function as site-specific and relational manifestations. When artworks are integrated into public spaces, they have the potential to transform urban environments into a framework for cultural experiences, offering new artistic and aesthetic insights.
To illustrate this transformation, a photography series by Lulu Skov Andersen will be exhibited. In collaboration with Frida Rask Wolff, she has interpreted Bigger Picture through the camera lens, where monochrome photographs highlight the artwork’s unknown and unseen dimensions.
Come and explore how art in public spaces can foster new dialogues and perspectives!
The exhibition is open on Thursday, May 16th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM
