In the solo exhibition Free heavy beautiful, Julie Stavad presents a series of small sculptures, including a dance shoe, cutlery, and a bicycle seat – found objects transformed into poetic and unsettling forms.
Directly on the gallery walls, three large-scale drawings are painted: oversized pages from the artist’s sketchbook. The works balance humor and depth, the familiar and the distorted. The exhibition raises questions about what is free, heavy, and beautiful.
