In an era dominated by digitalization and the fleeting superficiality of social media, Rune Fjord delves into the sensual and tactile. The exhibition explores the connection between body, spirit, digital presence, and the afterlife through a deeply personal and sensory approach.
At the heart of the installation are sculptural casts of the artist’s own body, created using historical techniques inspired by Cennini from 15th-century Italy. Materials such as clay, plaster, wax, silicone, and plastic are used to reinvent the physical form, later translated into digital representations, including NFTs.
The installation also features a neon artwork and a unique scent composed with the artist’s own blood, forging a powerful link between the physical and the immaterial.
MY BODY BELONGS TO YOU invites reflection on how the body and spirit exist and transform in the face of a digitalized reality.
Rune Fjord has put his body up for sale – how much is yours worth?
