Flower Drop is a performance by Molly Haslund, carried out in open urban environments. During the Art Matter Festival in Copenhagen, the performance is presented along Movia’s bus routes 2A.
Molly Haslund gets on and off the bus while trying to manage a large bouquet of flowers so massive it nearly covers her shoulders and face. The colorful flowers attract attention from nearby passengers, pedestrians, and cyclists. Occasionally, she loses a flower without immediately noticing and continues on her way. Friendly passengers and passersby pick up the fallen flower and follow her to return it. As a thank-you, they are allowed to keep the flower, and the afternoon continues with an unexpected gesture of mutual kindness – now with a flower as a memento.
