info

Taking its starting point in the visual culture surrounding barbershops and the increasing exposure of men’s hairstyles on social media—featuring fades, lines, and patterns—the exhibition delves into this unique corner of boy and men’s culture. A culture the artists are both part of—and observers of.
With hair as the common focal point, the exhibition grows from the nostalgic gaze of the three middle-aged men reflecting on a bygone era. It investigates the multifaceted aesthetics of barbershops—facades, signage, and interiors—with a loving hope that future generations, in their own ways, will continue the important work of expanding and renewing our shared, collective, and ever-growing visual culture.
YOUNG COLOR blends graphics, text, photography, and installation in an eclectic and playful exploration of hair as language, identity, and ritual. The space is staged with attention to both the graphic and performative aspects.
