In August 2015, Folkehuset Absalon opened its doors in Vesterbro in Copenhagen. Absalon is a community centre where locals and everyone else can meet and socialise in new ways.
In Absalon you can meet your neighbour for a communal meal, party with your friends and bring your grandparents for a game of Scrabble.
Imagine an extension of your own living room, full of new and old friends, table tennis, music, backgammon, film, bingo, food, dance, coffee, chess, yoga, flea markets, parties, lectures and everything between heaven and earth. Then you have Absalon!
We believe that what gives life value is the social bonds we form with each other - and with Absalon we want to create a framework for exactly that.
At Absalon, there's always something happening. We have around 60 events a week. From croquis to bingo, parties and communal dining. Everyone is welcome to join in.
