Blue Canvas Projects præsenterer 3 * 2 * 1: en udstilling af Mikkel Ørsted, Johan Dam Westermann og Gabriel Pereyra.
Mikkel Ørsted (b. 1988), combines - through painting, and a transgression of its classic form - colorful pigments and unconventional brushstrokes, with patterned textiles, wooden constructions, and ceramics, in an attempt to take the world apart and reassemble it. Ørsted is fascinated by the forms of nature, the logic of philosophy, patterned textiles, and also looks to the laws of physics in his artistic practice. Ørsted paints as he senses the world – not just through sight, but through an inexhaustible curiosity about the world’s structure and logic. Abstract landscapes and fast brushstrokes appear on various planes, side by side with ornaments, decorative systems, and signs that make up Ørsted’s own painting language.
Mikkel Ørsted has an MFA from The Royal Danish Art Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen, 2020. He has exhibited at CCA Andratx Art Center, Mallorca, CLAY Museum of Ceramic Art Denmark, Viborg Art Center, Ekely Gallery and Bricks Gallery. His works are part of the private collection at New Carlsberg Foundation and the collection at CLAY Museum of Ceramic Art Denmark.
Gabriel Pereyra was born in 1968 in Argentina. He lives and has his studio in Copenhagen. He studied art at the Art Students League of New York.
He has participated in various exhibitions in Europe and Argentina, and recently several in Copenhagen. He is currently represented by the Blue Canvas Project in Copenhagen.
Between Calm and Narrative: Landscapes of Denmark
This series invites us to rediscover the Danish environment through a gaze that oscillates between sensory memory and constructed fiction. Here, Nordic light is presented not as a physical phenomenon, but as an emotional state, a chromatic vibration that transforms the everyday into something intimate and almost tactile.
