In the old central laundry at Sundholm lies Denmark’s largest studio building for professional artists and designers. FABRIKKEN for Kunst og Design is a workspace. This year, the 70+ artists and designers working here, focus on revealing the creative process that usually unfolds behind closed doors, when they open to the public on Saturday, May 24.
In a world surrounded by crises, art often plays a crucial role. It creates reflective spaces for considering how we live while offering meaningful experiences and a break from everyday life. Yet, the artistic journey remains a mystery to many—Open House 2025 aims to change that.
Under the title FABRIKKEN at Work, artists and designers will open their studios to visitors. In the central hall, five selected artists and designers will move their workspaces into a shared area, inviting guests to engage with their process throughout the day.
Meet visual artists Juju Bento, Signe Vad, Georg Jagunov, and Kajsa Karlsson, as well as designer Kasper Kyster, each presenting a unique approach to their craft and materials. Fashion designer Anne Damgaard will also host an open creative workshop for curious children and their adults, from 12 pm – 3 pm.
The event is supported by the Amager Vest & Amager Øst Local Committees.
