Join us on a guided tour through MAPS’ largest international exhibition to date. Dancing in the Streets (On Power) presents more than 70 artists whose work have challenged and reshaped our understanding of what art can do in public spaces.
Spanning six decades, this exhibition captures artistic experiments that range from radical interventions in 1960s South America to self-organized anti-authoritarian projects in 1980s New York, and beyond to emerging platforms in West Africa during the 2010s.
This exhibition isn’t just a historical account; it’s a dynamic, unfolding story of art and life, where performance, happenings, and artistic manifestations take center stage. The power of art in public spaces is ever-evolving, and Dancing in the Streets reflects that movement in a multitude of ways.
As part of the exhibition, the renowned artist and choreographer Maria Hassabi transforms our foyer into a captivating 20-meter-long mirror installation, creating a new space for visitors to engage, reflect, and perform. To begin your experience, don’t miss the live performance by a professional dancer, showcasing this unique installation in motion.
At 1 PM, you can experience forwards – Maria Hassabi's performance, performed by a professional dancer.
The guided tour is from 2 to 3 PM.
