CHART ART FAIR is the leading Nordic contemporary art fair held at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts’ Kunsthal Charlottenborg in Copenhagen. Since its inception, CHART has established itself as the international platform for contemporary art in the region.
CHART breaks with the traditional fair format by carefully curating the galleries’ artwork and presenting everything in unison as an exhibition, in the halls of Kunsthal Charlottenborg. The selection and curation is realised by the five founding galleries based in Copenhagen: Gallery Susanne Ottesen, Galleri Bo Bjerggard, V1 Gallery, Andersen’s Contemporary, and David Risley Gallery.
This year 28 of the leading galleries from the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden) and 2 galleries based outside of the Nordic region, but originating from Copenhagen and Helsinki, have been invited to participate in the fair. Belenius/Nordenhake (SE), Galleri Brandstrup (NO), Croy Nielsen(DE), and Helsinki Contemporary (FI) will exhibit at the fair for the first time.
For 2016, CHART introduces a new section bringing together 6 of the leading galleries presenting the very best of contemporary and classic Nordic design, CHART DESIGN. The new design fair will be held during CHART, August 26-28, 2016, in Festsalen at Charlottenborg.
Also the extensive CHART SOCIAL programme will expand this year, with TALKS, ARCHITECTURE competition, SPECIAL ART PROJECTS, and other events taking place before, during and after the fair.

CHART ART FAIR was established in 2013 by Gallery Susanne Ottesen, Galleri Bo Bjerggard, V1 Gallery, Andersen’s Contemporary, and David Risley Gallery, with the ambition to challenge the boundaries and experience of a traditional art fair. The ambition is to develop the role and impact of a Nordic art event on the international art and cultural scene.
In 2015 more than 13.000 guests visited CHART ART FAIR in 2015, with over a 1000 international guests and art professionals. For the opening concert, over 6.500 visitors from Copenhagen came to the courtyard of Kunsthal Charlottenborg.
