Eight contemporary artists explore humanity’s relationship with the planet through a sensory and poetic investigation of the climate crisis. From discoveries at Amager Fælled and subterranean earth creatures to floral metaphors, a café in outer space, and invasions from distant galaxies.
The exhibition is based on the recognition that we belong to the world – not the other way around. The artists offer new perspectives on the future of our planet, drawing inspiration from both history and science fiction. The works range from painting, sculpture, and installation to video and contemporary archaeology.
Visitors step into the exhibition by literally walking across delicate drawings of endangered insects. Further on, they encounter beings from the earth’s depths, botanical narratives of colonial history, and future memories from a distant galaxy.
