British collage artist Phil Scott re-examines our relationship with two-dimensional imagery, carefully deconstructing photographic contexts to create new meanings through sophisticated juxtapositions. His works evolve organically, forging unexpected relationships between images and the world they inhabit. In an era saturated with visual culture, Scott’s interventions expose the hidden narratives within found imagery, reshaping our understanding of contemporary society.

Guided by the motto “Find, Cut & Paste”, Scott places particular emphasis on the act of finding—sourcing unique visual artefacts that he transforms into contemporary compositions. His practice extends the legacy of Dada, engaging with themes of power, propaganda, and cultural symbolism. By dismantling and reassembling existing imagery, his collages challenge conventional readings of art history, allowing the audience to construct their own narratives from his layered compositions.
